Doing Things Right - Satellite Hearts
This was a fun music video shoot for a band called the Satellite Hearts based out of Philadelphia, PA. I met these fine gentlemen when they played a show at my live performance venue in Kutztown, PA a few months before this shoot. They wanted a live performance style video with a psychedelic twist. We shot the whole video at The CleftStone Works in Kutztown from about 5:00 P.M. to about 2:00 A.M. We started the shoot by hooking up about 19 tungsten units of varying wattages to get the look that you see in the video, hooked up some sound gear, and proceeded to record a few live performance songs. These videos are unreleased as of now, but will surface soon. After all of the live performances were recorded, we changed the lighting around a little bit, and recorded the video that you see here. We utilized a couple of Canon DSLR's and an Apple iPhone 6, with an app that let me shoot in 3k resolution, attached to a cheap follow-focus that let me barrel-roll the camera. Huge thanks to Josh Chambers for bringing some lighting and camera operating, Rob Orthwein for audio engineering and camera operating, Brady Kase as production assistant, Tim Klawiter, Anna Robinson, and Charla Grim for behind the scenes photos, Evan Grasso for his animation work, Kim and Michael Grasso for helping transport equipment due to my broken back at the time, and of course, Peter Galgano for giving us permission to use his warehouse.
